09-02-17: Rise in VN tourism from China could bolster relations

Almost a quarter of a million Chinese visitors chose Vietnam as their destination in January this year. That´s an increase of a whopping 68 percent in comparison to January last year, according to the Vietnamese authorities.

And that´s good news for the relations in between the two countries, says analyst Frederick Burke, partner in the international law firm Baker & McKenzie: “Vietnam is a place the Chinese feel comfortable going,” he says.
