The most followed TV-programme yesterday globally was the last debate in between the two US Presidential candidates, Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump.
But not only the Western hemisphere had their TVs on – so did Beijing.
The outcome of the election, scheduled for November 8 this year, will have significant consequences for Asia and they are likely to differ depending on which candidate wins.
In Beijing there is confidence that Hilary Clinton will ultimately win the election, but readies for a Trump presidency as well. Bearing in mind that China today is less dependent on US than during the last election, China is confident it can handle Donald Trump, if the American voters choose him.
