By Anya Palm

The mosquito borne Zika virus no longer constitutes a health threat to general populations in the countries, where it has been detected, according to the World Health Organization.

The virus has been confirmed in 60 countries, among them most of Southeast Asia, causing concern due to the densely populated areas with large risk of spreading the disease fast.

However, officials warn that despite the downgrade, the virus remain a risk factor.
