In 2014, senior Khmer Rouge leaders Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan, were convicted of crimes against humanity – a verdict both former leaders have appealed.

Since then the final verdict have been pending, while the court have heard harrowing witness accounts from the Pol Pot-era, where the pair served as Prime Minister and President, respectively.
