In the beginning of August this year tech-giant Microsoft signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Cambodian government, ensuring future collaboration in the budding, young tech-market.
But Cambodia is far from a “plug-and play”-market: Largely an agricultural nation, electronic solutions are relatively new to many areas of Cambodian society and this is something that Microsoft has had to factor in, when working in the Kingdom, says Michelle Simmons, the general manager for South East Asia New Markets for Microsoft Asia Pacific. She has no doubt that the future for Cambodia in the tech-market looks bright:
“ Cambodia has a very young population which is developing skills and building a strong ICT ecosystem to leverage tech,” she says.
