On her first visit outside ASEAN, Myanmar´s state counsellor and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Ang San Suu Kyi, has travelled to China to meet with Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
China is a key ally for Myanmar, and Mrs. Suu Kyi has previously been invited and welcomed here, while Myanmar is undergoing its historic democratic changes.
The talks are expected to be centered on two issues: The ongoing peace process in between the state of Myanmar and an array of ethnic militia, and a suspended dam-project that China may ask Myanmar to re-engage in.
The visit ends on Sunday.
