Danish pork exports to China ”close to doubling” in 2016

The pork production in China has dropped due to new environmental regulations causing a heightened demand in the market for pig meat exports.

The change has proved to be lucrative for Danish farmers who have been quick to raise exports with almost double the amount comparing to last year.

The new Chinese situation is a relief for Danish exporters after Russia put a ban on EU meat exports two years ago.

Head of press, Jens Hansen from Danish food processing company Danish Crown adds that the regulations have “been a game changer for the farmers, as we have seen the prices on slaughter pigs rise nearly 20 percent this spring.”
