At a time when many emerging markets are slowing down, India is now the fastest-growing major economy with an annual GDP growth above 7 per cent. By 2030, India will take over China as the most populous nation. India’s urban population alone will increase with 400 million by 2050.
The Indian Government has launched the ‘100 Smart Cities’ program in an effort to create more liveable and sustainable cities. Given Danish companies’ strong competencies in sustainable solutions, ‘100 Smart Cities’ is an interesting platform for pursuing new opportunities in India.
Asia House, together with the Danish Embassy in New Delhi – wishing to present the opportunities for Danish companies – is pleased to invite you to the launch of reports and seminar on India’s ‘100 Smart Cities’.
There will be presentations by Ambassador Peter Taksøe-Jensen and key members of the research teams behind the various reports (see program below). The ‘Smart Liveable Cities in India’ report outlines the ’100 Smart Cities’ program and how Danish companies can best make their solutions available on the urban scene in India. Three separate case studies highlight specific opportunities in the cities of Udaipur, Erode and Kakinada. Also, there will be an opportunity to interact with a panel of resource persons from India and Denmark on how to pursue opportunities in India’s urban market.
