On Thursday and Friday last week, Thailand saw eight different explosions scattered over seven provinces. Last night, Thai police revealed that they had uncovered additional five devices, which had remained unexploded.
The series of bombings came shortly after the country carried out a peaceful referendum securing a proposed constitution, which will pave the way for a general election in 2017.
The motive for the bombings remains unclear, but regardless of intent, the bombings are expected to affect both economy and tourism as hotels already report that many guests have cancelled their reservations following the attacks.
