Singapore authorities confirm that a pregnant woman has tested positive for the Zika virus, causing the country to be extra thorough in their continuous work to contain the contagious virus.
In recent months Singapore has seen 115 cases in total, with 24 of them being new, the Ministry of Health and the National Environment Agency informed at a press briefing on Wednesday. Furthermore, a new potential cluster has been identified.
Zika, which can cause brain damage to newborns, has been detected in several Asien countries, including Malaysia, Bangladesh and the Philippines.
