South Korea will be making a huge industrial push towards hydrogen technology in the years to come. The country has pledged to produce 6.2 mio. hydrogen-powered cars by 2040, as well as promised to diversify the hydrogen supply portfolio to increase supply and to lower the price per kilogram of the energy source. This will create new jobs, revive the manufacturing business, and make South Korea less dependent on oil from the Middle East. Furthermore, this plan may ensure the country’s ambition to become a global leader in the field of hydrogen technology and overtake competitors such as the US and China.
