Asia is a thriving region. Most of the countries have impressive growth rates and millions are lifted out of poverty yearly, creating growing middle classes and increased spending across the region.
For this reason, now is said to be the “Asian Century” and by this rate in 2050 Asia could well be as wealthy as Europe.
But there are obstacles and if those are not taken seriously they could halter the positive development.
According the the Asian Development Bank the two biggest potential threats are global warming which will hit Asia harder than elsewhere on the planet, and robotics, which could obscure export-based economies, particularly in the Southern hemisphere.
