This past week has been a dynamic one at Asia House, where we hosted two Masterclasses for students and a Competence Seminar for educators – all part of our Youth Initiative project, supported by the A/S Dampskibsselskabet Orient’s Fond. The programme is designed to strengthen understanding of globalisation, sustainability, and the importance of Blue Denmark in a rapidly changing world.
Masterclass with ZBC Vordingborg HHX:
We welcomed students from ZBC – Zealand Business College Vordingborg for a Masterclass co-organised with Mikkel Gram from Danske Rederier, and Magnus Gary and Helene Mølsted from ShippingLab. Students explored global trade, cultural understanding, technology, and maritime careers through interactive discussions and hands-on activities.
Competence Seminar for educators at Det Internationale Gymnasium Niels Brock:
We had the pleasure of hosting a seminar for educators with keynote speaker Mette Nøhr Claushøj, who delivered a thought-provoking session on globalization and the evolving role of the US in international education and policy. The seminar highlighted the important role teachers play in preparing globally engaged students.
Masterclass for Slotshaven Gymnasium with Kabadiwalla Connect:
To round off the week, we held a Masterclass for Slotshaven Gymnasium in collaboration with Toke Falk Sabroe from Kabadiwalla Connect, focusing on globalisation, sustainability, and economic innovation. Students explored the intersection of circular economy models and global trade, with an engaging presentation on India by Peter Johansen from Asia House, providing valuable context on regional dynamics and sustainable development.
These sessions are central to our goal of empowering youth and educators to engage with the big questions shaping our collective future. A big thank you to all our partners and participants and to A/S Dampskibsselskabet Orient’s Fond for making this important work possible.
