Practical Involvement and Career Paths: Asia House at ToRS

18 March 2025

The Asia House team, Mira Topp, Peter Johansen, Torben Krab, Honar Abdollahi, and Melissa Simone Byberg had the pleasure of visiting ToRs (Cross-cultural and regional studies) faculty at University of Copenhagen for a session on our work to strengthen Denmark-Asia collaboration. Equally important, we shared experiences and tips on how to navigate career opportunities after graduation with an Asia-focused background.

The interest in this topic was clear, proven by the overwhelming attendance of young bright minds in Asia Studies and the flock of students that headed to us after the session (with many great questions!). We were also joined by our student podcast partner, “𝗘𝗿 𝗱𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗸’ 𝗔𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗻?”, who gave a brief talk about their inspiring initiative. Shout-out to the dedicated students, Bolette Thomsen 唐伯兰, Bastian Larsen, and Emilie Mellerkær.

Gratitude goes out to Barbara Wall and Magnus Børlum Dam Olesen for helping organize this session, and a huge thank you to all the students who joined and stayed afterward to chat.
