From Shanghai to Tokyo, in various summits and ideas exchange fairs you would find Asia House’s Torben Krab or Peter Johansen, as they have participated amongst others the Eighth Asia-Pacific Urban Forum, CIIE Innovation Incubation Fair, and the EU-China Summit on Industrial Cluster Cooperation in Wuxi.
Torben at the Eighth Asia-Pacific Urban Forum
Seoul witnessed the active engagement of Asia House’s Torben Krab at the Eighth Asia-Pacific Urban Forum (APUF8). In collaboration with BLOXHUB and Jakob Norman-Hansen, Asia House received a special invitation from the United Nations ESCAP for the Asia-Pacific Forum.
Torben led discussions on “Leveraging Digital Innovation for Sustainable Urban Development”, emphasizing the role of digital innovation in human-centric urban development through regional cooperation.
At the UN ESCAP’s Asia-Pacific Mayor Academy, Torben, part of the expert committee, guided nine graduating mayors from Asia in presenting and discussing their Smart City strategies.
Nordics Urged to Seize Asian Urban Planning Opportunities
Torben Krab’s insights from the Asia-Pacific Urban Forum highlight the increasing emphasis on people-centric urban development in Asia. The Nordics are urged to seize this unique opportunity as the region seeks value-based urban development.
NAVA Takes Center Stage at CIIE Innovation Incubation Fair in Shanghai
Asia House’s project, The Nordic Asian Venture Alliance (NAVA), made waves at The CIIE Innovation Incubation fair in Shanghai. Founder of NAVA, Peter Johansen, notes Scandinavia’s strong representation in diverse fields.
Peter Johansen Explores Opportunities in Wuxi
Fresh from Shanghai Peter Johansen participated in the EU-China Summit on Industrial Cluster Cooperation in Wuxi. He advocates for Nordic tech startups to explore Asia’s vast opportunities, challenging the age-old saying: “𝘎𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘢 𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘥𝘢𝘺. 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘴𝘩, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘢 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦.” His perspective on Nordic tech startups seeking opportunities in Asia was clear: the startups must taste the fish first before they even consider crafting the fishing rod. Therefore, if Nordic SMEs are to consider China, they must first be served very concrete opportunities, not just visions of hope and opportunity.
Exciting to see what these two Asia House men discover next.
