At the latest China International Import Expo (CIIE), out of 28 Danish companies participating, only one of them was there in person. Due to recently-repealed travel restrictions to China, Danish Companies have experienced difficulties representing themselves in the country. The Trade Council and Food Nation Denmark have therefore developed a B2B platform they call: “Food Nation Mini Program”, available on the Chinese super-app WeChat, which the Trade Council says was designed especially with the Danish agriculture industry in mind.

How does it work? Chinese stakeholders and distributors scan a QR code, which directs them to portfolios of Danish companies accompanied by detailed product descriptions and contact information. The Food Nation Mini Program was launched in connection with CIIE 2022 to promote more Danish products. This way, more Danish companies could attend CIIE despite travel difficulties.

According to Cortana Xueting Yang, who is responsible for the implementation of the platform, this new digital link between Denmark and China will strengthen the accessibility and visibility of Danish companies Furthermore, the platform will secure official endorsement and branding.
