The protagonist of the well-known Danish Kim Larsen song, ‘Jutlandia’, and its contribution as The East Asiatic Company’s hospital ship during the Korean War, was commemorated on this week’s sunny Monday.
The South Korean Embassy hosted a ceremony at Jutlandia’s Langelinie memorial stone, and you could then delve into the ship’s history at Asia House. Here, the EAC Club treated the guests to a Jutlandia history film narrated by Henrik Jagd, whose father played a crucial role onboard the hospital ship during the war.
Our gratitude goes out to the South Korean Embassy for the ceremony, and to the EAC Club for keeping the rich EAC history alive. Don’t forget to check out the memorial stone on your next autumn stroll.
