Last week, Asia House Denmark and Grundfos Foundation | PDJF hosted the first-ever high-level conference between Asian and Danish foundations.
Over two days, we explored how Danish foundations can engage more strategically with the Asian philanthropic sector, guided by three key insights:
- Europe must deepen its engagement with Asia – a continent rich in inspiration, opportunities, and essential partnerships for the future.
- Philanthropy must take a leading role in addressing global challenges by fostering innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Asia’s rapidly growing philanthropic sector will shape the region’s future, making collaboration and shared learning with Asian foundations more important than ever.
And the key takeaway was undeniable: Now is the time to act.
Through open and dynamic discussions, we tackled the challenges of international collaborative philanthropy and, most importantly, defined concrete next steps. Asia House Denmark is now set to turn these insights into action together with a growing network of Danish and Asian foundations.
Besides the participating foundations, the conference featured keynote speeches by Kristian Jensen, Christian Bason, Ph.D., and a group of inspiring students from Det Internationale Gymnasium Niels Brock. The conference was facilitated by our colleagues Torben Krab and Tom Sebastian.
Exciting times are ahead for strengthening Danish-Asian philanthropic partnerships!
