Vietnamese New Year at Asia House

18 January 2023

Chúc Mừng Năm Mới…. or Happy New Year in Vietnamese!

Sunday, 22 January, people all around the world will celebrate the Lunar New Year. The Embassy of Vietnam kickstarted the celebrations this past Sunday with a colorful reception at Asia House.

Lunar New Year, also called Tết in Vietnamese, is one of the most important celebrations in Vietnamese culture, where families gather to celebrate the start of spring and the best hopes for the new year. While the Chinese zodiac calls this the year of the rabbit, according to the Vietnamese zodiac, 2023 is the year of the cat.

Thank you to H.E. Ambassador Lương Thanh Nghị, Hoang Minh, and the other embassy staff for the arrangement, as well as friends and the Vietnamese community in Denmark for a festive day.
