The Embassy of Bangladesh in Copenhagen requests the pleasure of your company at the celebration of conferment by UNESCO of the historical speech of 7th March 1971 given by the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The epic speech of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 7, 1971 delivered before an audience of one million people reshaped the history of Bangladesh. The urges stitched with each word in this speech were ultimately the cause of the birth of an independent Country, Bangladesh.
On 30 October 2017, UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization) recognized the historic 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh as heritage. The historic 7th March speech is now included in the Memory of the World International Register, a list of world’s important documentary heritage maintained by UNESCO. The objective of creating the International Register is to ensure preservation of, and access to, documentary heritage in various parts of the world. The Memory of the World Register now includes a total of 427 documents and a collection from all continents.
