Jutlandia’s Legacy: A Visit to the Korean Embassy

16 July 2024

Earlier this summer, we had the pleasure of visiting the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Denmark. During our visit, we discussed potential collaboration opportunities with a focus on the Asia House youth strategy.

In addition to our discussions, we toured the embassy’s notable Jutlandia exhibition. This exhibition commemorates the hospital ship Jutlandia, which played a significant role during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Notably, Jutlandia was owned by the East Asiatic Company, the founding organization of Asia House.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to First Secretary Sunha Kim, Political Affairs & Public Diplomacy Researcher Subeen Gil, and Ambassador’s Office Personal Assistant Inger Justice for their warm hospitality and insightful discussions.
